The Taoiseach is to seek advice from Dr Michael Holohan about further social curtailments to stem the spread of Covid-19.

The move arises from scenes on social media  of people that were not observing social distancing around the country

However, the Taoiseach they would not be making decisions because they were trending on twitter

He felt it was unfair to berate people as they were not aware of the numbers what were going to be out and about yesterday.

The National Public Health Emergency Team will meet later this week to decide if further restrictions should be put in place

People are being asked to stay 2 metres apart from each other in public areas 

 A tweet from RTE earlier this afternoon stated that The Mayors of Dublin, Cork and Galway are calling for a lock town across the country to stop the spread of Covid-19. They say physical distancing measures are causing a lot of challenges despite people’s best efforts
